SBEA has scheduled the free Kansas Hunter Education Class for August 24 & 25, 2018. Class will be in the pavilion, north side of the SBEA Recreation Area, 4226 S. Gold. This class teaches new hunters to be responsible, ethical, safe and knowledgeable. By law, the course must be a minimum of 10 hours in length. Most courses are 12 hours or longer. The courses are taught by volunteer instructors across the state. The course consists of subjects covering hunter responsibility, ethics, fair chase, history of firearms, firearm basics, ammunition, basic gun safety, field safety, bowhunting, conservation and wildlife management, wildlife of Kansas, outdoor emergencies and boating safety for hunters. You must attend all classes and pass the test the last night to get your hunter safety card. Sign up forms are available in all SBEA stores. Members are free, non-members $5.00 to enroll in the class.
