SBEA Payroll Deduction and Probation / Reinstatement Fees

 SBEA Payroll Deduction Policy

SBEA Code of conduct on Payroll Deduction is there for the safety of our members and also the SBEA. Due to continued problems of misuse of this privilege, the Board has updated the rules for payroll deductions. The only change applies to when someone breaks the rules on amounts allowed or number of payroll deductions allowed each month.

  1. Members can only do 2 payroll deductions per month, limit of $600 per month.
  2. Each payroll deduction is limited to $300.
  3. Member must spend $25 to do a deduction. Any deduction from $25 – $100 will   come out in one paycheck.
  4. Any amount over $100, you may divide into 2 pay checks.
  5. If your account balance goes over $600 for any reason your account will be frozen until you have it paid down to $300.
  6. If for any reason your account is not paid off in 60 days you will not be allowed to do any more payroll deductions until the full amount is paid in full.
  7. If a member does 2 payroll deductions in one week the deductions will be added together and processed as 1 deduction.
  8. Violators of payroll deduction rules will receive a certified letter from SBEA stating the violation and will be placed on probation for payroll deducts for 1 year. During that year a second violation the member will be suspended from doing payroll deducts for 90 days. A third violation the member will be suspended from doing payroll deductions for 6 months.
  9. If for any reason we cannot collect what is owed to SBEA when a payroll deduction is submitted, you will be suspended from doing further deductions until debt is paid in full. If this problem continues your privileges will be reviewed for suspension or payroll deduction privileges will be revoked.
  10. If your payroll deduction is sent to collections, you will lose the privilege of doing payroll deductions permanently and your membership is suspended until the debit is paid.

(SBEA has the right to put a stop to all payroll deductions at any given time.)

Once debt is paid to the collection agency you will go on probation for 1 year. The reinstatement fee/probation fee of $100 must be paid to SBEA, to be approved to do payroll deductions again. You will be on probation for 1 year; your limit will be lowered to $300 a month instead of $600. If at any time in that year SBEA is not able to collect what you have charged you will lose the privilege of doing payroll deductions.
